First & Wesley United Methodist Church is a congregation that has expanded over 150 years and is rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Over those years, five congregations have served the people of West Haven and the City Point – Hill section of New Haven.
Our current building was erected in 1915 and has remained steadfast through name changes and merges. It stands as a worship space and beacon of hope for our present congregation and the surrounding community.
First & Wesley United Methodist Church is a diverse “small-town” church family in a big city where we want all to feel welcomed, accepted and loved as children of God. First & Wesley is committed to being a place for all people to meet God and to heed the call of the Holy Spirit to deepen their discipleship through worship, study, prayer, mission, and fellowship.
