We are the Body of Christ. Recently, the Epistle lesson was from I Corinthians 12. Below is a portion of what was read:

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses. – I Corinthians 12:4-11

The reason I am lifting up this scripture is because we are looking for people to help with the ministries of our church. I have listed a few missions/ministries and a brief description. To find out more about a particular ministry, please contact Sungmu Lee or Helen Smith.

Here are the church’s needs:
*Coordinate UMARMY mission trip -There is a checklist that is provided for you so that you know exactly what you need to do. Basically, you would be responsible for deciding on the week you would like to go, registering the group, following up on communication with all participants, and hold one or two meetings before the event to discuss what is expected and for tool training. Lastly, attend the mission week. I (Helen Smith) am willing to help whoever volunteers for this mission opportunity to learn what to do.

Director for VBS

The program comes with a list of what needs to be done and when to do them. Also, Helen Smith would be willing to assist someone willing to direct this ministry. There is a lot of support for whoever decides to do this.

Caring ministry caller

This would involve calling a list of 12-13 people every one or two weeks to see how they are doing and if they have any joys and concerns. Then you would phone, text or e-mail Sungmu to make him aware of any of joys and concerns. We started this ministry when COVID-19 hit and all the churches closed. Our feedback has been positive and people look forward to this call. This ministry helps us stay in contact with the entire congregation.

Worship PPT
We need people who are willing to program the PPT for our Sunday morning worship services. The templates are made up in advance and the job entails any updating the announcements (call Helen if you are unsure), copying and pasting the liturgy into the worship portion of the PPT. The PPT can be done any time the week before the worship service. It needs to be in the Dropbox (Helen can show you how to do this as well) by the 12pm on the Friday before the worship service.

Worship sound
We need people to operate the sound during worship service. This is fairly straightforward and Jian Chan is willing to show you what you need to do. No experience is necessary.

Worship camera operator
If you are tech savvy, this is the job for you! If you are interested in learning how to stream the service, please contact Hyeonjin Kim at hjkim1030@icloud.com

If you have any questions, please contact Sungmu Lee at 631-456-1713 or Helen Smith at 203-444-2362.
